86th Academy Awards - Red Carpet!

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive

This past Sunday, the 86th Academy Awards happened and I just had to watch for the red carpet! I ended up watching the entire show because Ellen DeGeneres was hilarious.
The red carpet however, was a bit disappointing, there were really no 'WOW' gowns.
However some ladies did wear some beautiful dresses and managed to make me say 'oooh, pretty'.
Here's a list of my absolute favorites from Sunday's red carpet!

Pictured below is the absolutely glamorous, ridiculously stunning, incredibly talented, Cate Blanchett.
Cate is wearing a nude Armani Prive gown embroidered with Swarovski crystals. Not only does the actress take the 'Best Dressed' award from me but she also beat out Meryl Street, Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock and Judi Dench in the category of Best Actress with her role as Jasmine in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
Congrats to Cate! She is always an absolute favorite of mine on the red carpet and is definitely one of my favorite actresses! If you haven't seen Blue Jasmine, make sure to check it out.

Anne Hathaway in Gucci

Well what can I say about Anne Hathaway? She is personality one of my favorite actresses, since 'The Princess Diaries', yes I was a kid when that movie came out. Anne wasn't nominated for anything so it makes sense that her gown wasn't over the top but still it is one of my favorites. She is wearing a black gown by Gucci, for me the top detailing sells me this dress, the close ups of this dress are to die for!
Also check up the gorgeous close up of Anne and the dress she wore to the Vanity Fair after party. One word; stunning.

And well everyone has to agree that even though Jennifer Lawrence played it safe this year with this red Dior gown, it doesn't really matter because it's impossible not to love this girl! If you don't love JLaw, there is probably something very wrong with you, just kidding, but seriously, she wanted pizza and she got some!
I do have to say that the hair style aged her and this girl radiates youth, so I would have loved to see a different hair style but there's only so much you can do with a pixie cut, either way, bravo Jennifer!

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent

There is no denying that Margot Robbie is a gorgeous gal, but she stunned in this Saint Laurent black gown. Margot wasn't nominated for any award but she looked so classic and chic. Her black gown had the cutest bow detail in the back. Also let me mention that this stunning brunette was a blonde bombshell in Wolf Of Wallstreet, so this dark look was a pleasant surprise. And her make up? Simply stunning

Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture, almost gave me a heart attack. This woman is SO beautiful and the black against her pale skin just contrasts perfectly. There are no words for this outfit. You go Charlize, you go girl.

Below is a small gallery of other A - listers who dressed to impress! After all it is the Oscars!

Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel

Anna Kendrick, why? You are so great and I love you but the dress this funny lady picked to wear for the RED carpet of the Oscars was just simply WRONG for me. Look to the right, THAT is the dress she should have worn. She is young, I don't understand why they're trying to age her, her dress is all over the place. NEXT.

Julia Roberts in Givenchy

And lastly, though I wish I didn't have to say that I have a 'Worst Dressed' award, I do. I was so disappointed when I saw Julia Roberts in this black Givenchy. This dress is unflattering and for a nominee, she should have gone with something either very simple or with something over the top. I absolutely hate the peplum and the lace, pretty much the whole design, and I almost hate myself for hating it, but I do.
:(

That is pretty much a wrap for me and the Oscar's this year!
Let me know who was your best and worst dressed in the comments below!

yours truly,
